Evening Expositions on the Book of Nehemiah (October 26 - 27, 2007) |
|
|
The return from exile brought all sorts
of challenges to the people of Israel. Alongside having to rebuild their
homes, they also faced important questions such as what was their status
as the people of God. But under the leadership of Ezra and Nehemiah,
much was accomplished as the walls of Jerusalem were re-built and
revival swept through the people.
But what does the book of Nehemiah have to say to us today? In what way
are Christians in Singapore in 2007 similar to the returning exiles of
Nehemiah’s day, if at all? And, is the book to be understood as a
leadership manual as it is so often used today? If not, how should it be
understood?
Join us for our next series of Evening Expositions where internationally
renowned Bible expositor, author and theologian Prof DA Carson, Research
Professor of New Testament, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (USA),
will preach through key sections of the book of Nehemiah and unpack
God’s message for us today.
