Evening Expositions - "Salvation Belongs to the Lord"

A runaway prophet, a big fish and a merciful God.

The book of Jonah has captured the imagination of children and adults alike over the centuries with its graphic portrayal of the prophet Jonah’s stubbornness to obey God and the Almighty’s relentless pursuit of both the prophet and His purposes. The episode of Jonah being swallowed by a fish for three days has caused many to dismiss it as no more than ancient folklore. Yet the Lord Jesus declared without hesitation that the book of Jonah is fact, not fiction, and that Jonah himself was a real historical person.

But what does the book mean? And what does it have to say to us today in modern day Singapore? And how should we read and understand it in the light of Jesus’ coming?

Come and explore this amazing prophetic book with us over two evenings and be prepared to have your own obedience to the call to mission as New Testament Christians challenged.

Our teacher for the series is the Rev David Jackman, President of The Proclamation Trust and founding director of The Cornhill Training Course in London. David will unpack the book of Jonah in four talks over the two evenings, preaching through a chapter of Jonah at a time.

Speakers:
Rev David Jackman, President of The Proclamation Trust and founding director of The Cornhill Training Course in London.
