“God's Sovereignty, Our Assurance”

Can Christians fall away? How sure are we of getting to heaven?

As Christians struggle in life with temptations and difficulties, there may be times when we despair of ever reaching heaven. "I can't stop sinning, am I going to be disqualified in the end?" "What about those who stop being Christians?"

And even the assurances from the Bible, of God bringing us to heaven, bring on a new set of puzzles….does that imply that Christians are merely puppets? What is our role in our Christian perseverance?

Peter O'Brien
, Senior Research Fellow, Moore Theological College (Sydney, Australia)
Ray Galea, Rector of St Alban's Church & MTS Trainer (Sydney, Australia)
